High Cholesterol
Try adding flaxseed..., packed with omega-3 oils, proteins and fibers ....a wonderful step towards better health...
  • Lowers your cholesterol level with high concentrations of the essential fatty acid omega-3 and the high amount of fiber.
  • Prevents constipation and protects your colon due to its high amount of fiber.
  • Provides anti-cancer properties due to its high levels of lignens.
  • Relieves skin conditions like psoriasis by stopping water loss in the layer just under your skin Accelerates weight loss through its ability to "draw in" more than eight times its weight. By taking it before your two biggest meals of the day, you'll eat less, but be just as full!
  • Contains 100-800 fifes more plant lignens than wheat bran, rye, buckwheat, millet, oats.
  • Could impact behavior, moods and mental function. Accurate nerve cell function is critically dependent on proper membrane fluidity. When EFA's are balanced, the cell wall is better able to perform its vital function. (The brain has the richest concentration of phospholipids in the body)
This wonder food dates back to the remotest periods of history. Flaxseeds and woven flax doth have been found in Egyptian tombs, and its oil, known as linseed oil, has been used for centuries for everything from coughs to constipation. It offers some amazing heart- healing ability. You must include essential fatty acids (EFA's) in your diet for a healthy heart. But bad fats, such as polyunsaturated fats in margarine are far to prevalent in the affluent diet around the world. Good fats include omega-3 EFA's (in flaxseed, and in coed water fish such as salmon) and omega-6 EFA'S (in fresh fruits and vegetables), omega-9 EFA'S,(olive oil) You need all three to maintain a healthy heart. Flaxseed is full of the omega-3 fatty adds...1/4 cup has 9000 mg. In the typical North American diet we consume too much omega-6 ( usually highly refined corn, cottonseed, canola oils) but not nearly enough omega-3. The rich amount found in flaxseed will give you the perfect balance.

The ideal ratio is four parts omega-6 to one part omega-3, in the diet. However, in our Affluent Diet we consume 10 to 20 times more omega-6 than we need approximately 20 to 1 instead of 4 to 1.
  • Reduce saturated fats and total fat intake: animal fats and processed foods
  • Adopt a plant based diet and include avocado and nuts in small amounts.
  • Eliminate margarine, shortening and hydrogenated vegetable oils....these contain trans-fatty acids which are UN-natural. They cannot be used but are stored in the arteries, etc.
  • Add flax seed meal and flax oil to the diet to increase the Omega-3 fatty acids so needed in our diet.

Other benefits of flaxseed .....

Fiber acts like a broom to cleanse the intestinal walls. Sufficient fiber in the diet will prevent constipation, help you loose weight and even prevent colon and rectal cancer. Fiber is also a key part of the cholesterol-reduction benefit. It should be noted that Iignens are thought to be estrogen modulators, balancing estrogen activity with both weak estrogenic and anti-estrogen abilities.

What about products like Metamucil for adding fiber?
Metamucil does NOT have high concentrations of fiber or the therapeutic qualities of flaxseed (with heart healthy EFA's and anti-cancer Iignens). One serving of Metamucil only has 3.4 grams of fiber. Metamucil is usual[y sweetened with aspartame, which is a VERY dangerous chemical.... see http://web2.airmail.net/marystod Or call 1-800-969-6050 to order The Deadly Deception for $25.00 or to order free newsletter.

What about Herbal Fiberblend* for fiber?
An excellent product. 6 grams of fiber per Tablespoon, and it has 18 herbs with wonderful benefits. One serving has eight times the bulking power of oat bran and 60 - 70% water-soluble fiber. Studies show lowered cholesterol and reduced incidences of diverticulosis, colon cancer and appendicitis. Studies reported by Kellogg indicate that a daily intake of 10 grams of psyllium may lower cholesterol by as much as 15 %.
